...to let you all know I'll be back, guns a-blazing, next week. There is actually no reasonable excuse for my absence this week; I have done a total of no study, have written about 9 words all week (and that was just on an envelope for work...) In fact, I have spent my entire week watching Doctor Who, replaying the ace first episode of Summer Heights High, and reading the first installment of my actual printed pop column over and over again simply because I'm still not sure it's real. Yep, been pretty fucking lazy this week, but I've totally needed the me-time.
Somewhat random; I have been having really strange dreams about zombies for the last three months. I have no idea why but at least 4 times a week, I'm dreaming about bloody zombies. And with all this Doctor Who fresh in my memory, last night I dreamt about time traveling zombies. For Christ's sake.
Hopefully tomorrow night there wont be too many zombies in sight as I plan on letting my proverbial hair down on the town, where I will no doubt hassle all the local DJs to play me some Dannii Minogue and Sugababes.
So yes, regular programming next week. Speaking of Amelle & co, here is the new Sugababes video clip. Good golly that lady is fierce. LOVE. HER.
11:18 AM | Poster Girl said... I'm all about Doctor Who at the moment too! Got the first season on DVD and the third is running on one of the TV channels I get. It's dangerously distracting, though--"great, I've got a spare hour to get that paper done! ...or I could just watch an episode of Doctor Who..."
3:56 PM | Scott said... What do you make of the "Amelle to be sacked" business in the UK media? To me her behaviour sounds brilliant, in a random, selfish, mad-as-a-cut-snake-in-a-proper-pop-star kind of way.
4:05 PM | Adem IAR said... Scott, I think it's all absolute rubbish. I honestly think that, for a change, Keisha is not the one inflicting fear upon her fellow band members, but it's probably Amelle. Why would they sack her? She'll kill them!
Keisha and Heidi might talk in their own language, but I bet Amelle just strikes them when they do it in front of her.
In all seriousness though, I don't see it happening. If they didn't fire her when she ripped that fugly slags hair out, or when her boyfriend was accused of raping her sister, they're not going to get rid of her now.
paul: i guess you'll have to show me your column when i come down to the uk in a couple of year!
kc: would you believe that there are 2 DJs in Geelong that WILL play said artists if requested? I used to work with them at Lyric and, if I'm forceful enough, they'll play my requested song/s which nearly always result in an empty dancefloor. Ho hum! Not the case last night though, sadly, mainly because we didn't go to the venues in question. Although I can tell you that The Nash has seen host to "Biology" and "Love Machine" on more the one occasion each, same with La Rachel's "Some Girls." There were, quite literally, the six of us dancing with incredible gusto every time, whilst the remains of the bar wondered what it was they were missing out on.
PPG: Oh I'm really loving Season 1 of the Doc and am scared as to how I'll go with the transition of a new doctor by season 2. Mind you, I'd always preferred the second Doctor, David Tennant, but that's because I'd only ever watched Season 2. Now that I've seen Christopher E do his thing in season 1, it's going to be hard to let go of his cheeky smile. :(
