Tonight's The Night
|
SO. Tonights "Professional Distortion" - a radio show I host in the Melbourne/Geelong are - will be jam packed full of DANCE CLASSICS. Well, I'm going to try and fit as many of them in a two hour time frame as possible. There is no doubt that if you tune in, you'll be hearing such classy creations by Gina GHB [pictured] (every single dance classics edition she gets a whirl), Motiv8, Pulp, Dannii Minogue, Samantha Fox (!!) and god knows what else.
The festivities begin from Midnight on 94.7 FM, and there will be a few prizes being given away as well. First off: 2 copies of Dannii Minogue's "So Under Pressure" CD Single with thanks to Central Station Records. Turns out a couple of people that won these a while ago on the show couldn't be bothered picking them up within the one month time frame, so now they are being given away again. Hurrah! Good news for you, but bad news for the lazy Michael in Bell Park and Joanne in Highton. OH WELL.
I'll also be throwing out a copy of Madonna's "Hung Up" single on 12" Vinyl to the first person to call and answer a magnificently easy question correctly.
But the prizes DO NOT END THERE. I'm also going to be giving away ANOTHER copy of Madonna's "Hung Up" single on 12" Vinyl RIGHT HERE ON THIS VERY WEBSITE. That's right, you don't even have to bother tuning into the show this evening, because you could win this lovely record without even MOVING FROM YOUR COMPUTER CHAIR.
Simply email me the title of your favourite Sheena Easton song, and a brief description of why it is so. If your answer is the funniest/and/or is the same as MY favourite Sheena Easton song, the record is yours. Competition closes on Monday the 4th of December at 10pm, Australian EST.
And to anyone who's wondering why I haven't uploaded any of my radio shows to the website yet - prepare yourself, the plan is that as of next week, not only will I be recording each and every show to upload to this here website, but each "episode" will tie-in with a post I make on the Monday after each show. Confusing? You'll have to come back next week to find out more. This "idea" (which involves dance classics... weekly) I've had could go either way - it could be ridiculously brilliant or just plain ridiculous, but you know, whatever, let's give it a go!
You have been warned.
PS: No NICOLA FRIDAY today, sorry. I forgot to email our guest contributor asking them to have it to me by Thursday. This is due to what can only be described as me having "other things on my mind" - I have been unfortunate enough to have begun my bodies hayfever season early, and have been battling a runny nose, itchy eyes (Eddie!) and boxes UPON BOXES of tissues. So cut me some slack, and it'll be back next week.

Hopefully you get a bit better Adem, and I look forward to seeing Nicola Friday next week.
Hurrah!
