Fading Star

Kate DeAlphabet's album "A place I've never been" (surely an ode to the number 1 spot on the albums charts) has slipped down to number #26 in recent weeks, after only 4 weeks in the charts. The biggest surprise is probably the fact that dear old Kate's single is - somehow - still holding itself in the top 10 singles chart (and haven't you all bought your copy of "Wasabi" by now? Why is it STILL number #1?!?!!!)...

Surely the album sales are going to be raising some eyebrows down at Sony/BMG... Including the sister/girlfriend brows of newly signed artist Emily Williams, no doubt.

Turns out, a bunch of Insane Girls online posse started up a petition of sorts demanding that the "pop lover" be given a recording contract.

So, If we were to, say, start a petition in honor of getting Laura Gissara to sing the inspirational theme song to send off our Socceroos to the World Cup this year, would Football Australia listen?

Laura has as much - if not more - talent than Emily "Look at those shoes!" Williams, and for christs sake - SHE SANG CHER'S "DOVE LA MORE" AT HER GIG IN GEELONG!!!! This is surely enough to cement the Giss as one of the nations most underrated legends.

So while we try and work on this petition (and we're getting those bloody photos done this week too, sorry!), we'd also like to - just quietly - admit that the next Kate DeAlphabet single is pretty brilliant. How is this possible, we hear you shriek! Well, it's been written by the Veronicas, and by the sounds of it, we're fairly certain they (Kate's "people") didn't fiddle around with it too much because it's fairly Clarkson-Ronica-ish.

But... will it be enough?
