Single White Female?

Hello.

It has been brought to our attention by reader Lisa Dean from NSW that we seem to have a place over on the Wikipedia Web.

Which is frightening for several reasons because:

1) We did not start it
2) It has a lot of information about us that we'd almost forgotten about
3) It is just very scary

Which means that we obviously have a stalker.

If you are our stalker, please email us and let us know of your identity.

Because whoever wrote this certainly knows an incredible amount about us.... And if we like you, and you don't try to threaten us with our lives, we may even send you a prize.

Email us: iamtheiarstalker@inthemix.com.au

SIDE NOTE: Seriously though, whoever did this - thank you! We'd almost be touched if it wasn't just a little freaky as to how much information you know!

Hello (Turn Your Radio On)

As the New Year countdown begins, we'd like to invite you all to tune your FM Dials over to 94.7 tonight from Midnight, as we launch our new show Professional Distortion, onto the public.

Some of you may have been aware that all of this year we've been hosting a show called
Medication. That show said its goodbye's last week to make way for this slightly more awesome and possibly more thought out (!!) show, which will focus on Electro, Pop & House tracks from all over the globe.

Don't let the fact that we're hosting the show discourage you, nor the fact that you can only catch it in Geelong/Melbourne push you away. Every Monday, after each show, we'll be posting a medium quality MP3 copy of the previous Friday nights show for download, so those outside of the 'designated region/s' can "enjoy" a bit of Distortion too.

Tonight, we'll be counting down the Top 30 songs of 2005 - which we've ripped straight out of our Top 205 of 2005.

Amazing.

Also, we'd just like to send out a mass of New Year wishes to all of our readers. Please BE SAFE over this holiday season, and wherever you're spending your Eve or Day, make sure you enjoy it as much as possible, but we'd also like to see you all surviving it as well, so remember: Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is an easy way to land yourself - or someone else - in hospital.

So we beg you, play nice.

Have fun everyone!!

xx IAR.

We're not going to get into why we've placed each track in the position they're in (except for "My Humps", which is there for its comical value) - purely because we're exhausted after compiling the list, and we're extremely fucking lazy for the fact that we feel "the music can speak for itself."

IAR's Albums of 2005

Well here it is, our list of the 40 best Long Players that 2005 has produced. In the lead up to the New Year we'll be posting various charts, including our songs, movies, TV moments, etc etc of the year which we're quite sure you will 'enjoy'.

01. Madonna - Confessions On A Dancefloor
After the commercial disappointment of "American Life", Madonna certainly had a lot to prove in her 2005 comeback.

So with the help of production wizard Stuart Price, some 70's inspiration, "Saturday Night Fever" and a splice of ABBA, Madge came up with a disco sensation that would talk
even the broodiest of people into dancing.

"Hung Up" is only a taste of what th
e album has to offer, with tracks such as "How High", "Get Together" and "Sorry" really stealing the show, whilst bonus track "Fighting Spirit" is simply sublime.

Try to avoid "Future Lovers" though.
It's a bit stinky.

02. Girls Aloud - Chemistry
Girls Aloud's latest Long Play offering is not setting the charts alight in the same fashion as their previous albums, which is a shame because this is, undoubtedly, their best effort yet. A more mature sound, the Girls attack everything from C-List celebrity, Jokeaine use ("Joke fuelled egos") and even Bondage. "Biology" is probably their best song to date, "Waiting" rips into your head an
d savagely throws in an infectious chorus, and "Whole Lotta History" is the ballad of all ballads. And let's not even get started on the amazing Bonus Christmas Disc.

03. Princess Superstar - My Machine
Taking the term 'Concept Album' to a completely different level. Princess Superstar's fifth studio album surpasses most things released not only this year, but ever. "My Machine" is set in the future, where they stopped counting time, where people are without tongues, communication is done via a telepath and evil music such as Hardstyle does not exist. Perfect world? Maybe, but it wasn't all so perfect before hand. Listen to the amazing story of an obsessed Celebrity named Superstar as she creates 10,000 clones of herself to take over the world as we know it. We warn you though - The Superstar somehow manages to turn into a box of cereal before the tale is through.

04. Rachel Stevens - Come & Get It
Poor Rachel Stevens. This year, she made a superb album that critics simply adored. Pity no one bought it though. Her first album, "Funky Dory" was a stinker of the highest order, but it did seem to sell a bit more than her second, a nicely polished pop record with all the right moves. "Come & Get It" should have propelled her to major superstardom, but instead saw her as the butt of jokes amongst many on pop culture based Internet Forums. Heralded by many as the definitive pop album of 2005, songs such as "Crazy Boys", "Dumb Dumb", "I Will Be There" and "I Said Never Again..." demonstrated, quite brilliantly, why this was the case for so many. Apparently though, it just boils down to the public not really liking Rachel that much.

05. Bloc Party - Silent Alarm
There aren't many blistering words to describe how brilliant the Bloc Party's "Silent Alarm" really is, so all we're going to say is that, although they may be the hype artists of 2005, listening to just one of their songs, it's quite easy to see why. "The Price of Gas" is simply electrifying, whilst "Banquet" just makes you want to dance. Highly Impressive and the remix album is just as good too.

06. McFLY - Wonderland
2005 saw the 'Fly drop the words "Fun", "Smile" and "Joyous Occasion" right out of their vocabulary, and replaced them with "Misery", "Brooding" and "Xanax Addiction". This wasn't necessarily a bad thing though. "Wonderland" was obviously created to show the world that the band were now past puberty, through with singing about the colour of people's hair, and ready to tackle life head on. Suicide, death, depression and, funny thing this: girls, are just some of the topics brought up through the album. "She Falls Asleep" is mesmerizing, poetic and rather haunting. And if "Too Close For Comfort" is not the last single released off this album, then there really is no justice in the world.

07. Robyn - Robyn
Surely you all remember Robyn. "Do You Know" and "Show Me Love" were ridiculously massive in their day, so this album was most certainly eagerly anticipated. The second most important pop comeback of the year, goose bump worthy tracks such as "Be Mine!" and "Handle Me" are just the tip of the iceberg as to how flawless this record really is. Why this has not been released to massive fanfare in Australia we'll never quite understand.

08. Vitalic - OK Cowboy
Over three years ago we were introduced to the pulsating sounds of Vitalic. It was at a techno party in Melbourne, standing in front of a giant industrial fan, blowing us almost to the back of the venue. At the time we simply called it the "Vroom Vroom" track, which, about 6 hours later, found out was actually called "La Rock 01". So the man finally produced an album this year, and it should probably be noted that it is the Techno release of the year. "My Friend Dario" threw Vitalic into a pop music spotlight, whilst "Newman" and the legendary "Poney" managed to keep the techno elitist in us satisfied to a T.

09. Bodies Without Organs - Prototype
Swedish pop is fantastic, isn't it? And it certainly doesn't get much better than this release from Bodies Without Organs. "Sixteen Tonnes of Hardware" sticks out as the albums certifiable winner, whilst "Conquering America" and "Voodoo Magic" are sublime in their own unique ways. You really cannot go wrong when you're taking the best bits of The Pet Shop Boys, ABBA and electronica, and fusing them together on an album. This doesn't try to be anything but brilliant, and it does nothing but succeed the whole way.

10. Kate Bush - Aerial
Bitch has kept us waiting for twelve fucking years. And although there, sadly, was no updated version of "Babushka" (her greatest recording ever), you just cannot say it wasn't worth the wait. "Mrs Bartolozzi" is a washing-up masterpiece, and lead single "King of the Mountain" sends eerie chills up the spine. It truly is a breathtaking experience, and is even more enjoyable with a bottle of red by your side. Welcome back Kate, the most consistently stoned woman alive... we've bloody missed you.

The Rest...

Seasons Greetings

We would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a safe holiday season through the New Year Period.

Wherever you are in the world, and whatever climate you may be experiencing (whether it be a Winter White Xmas or a Scorching Summer one), please do be safe. Don't drink or take substances of any kind and then get behind the wheel of a car. That is just plain stupid, especially since there will be an abundance of men in blue parading through the streets of the world to make sure no one is off smashing into walls.

We'll be on holidays after the 1st of January for a few days, so things will continue on the site, as they say, like clockwork (!!) until then.

Also, to those of you wondering what has happened to the forum - in a somewhat hilariously true xmas spirit, Invision's servers have crashed and, according to tech support, the forums should be back up by xmas day (but the looks of this occurring are very slim), so we'll keep you posted when it's back online.

Once again, have a very merry safe holiday season folks.

xxx IAR.

Some things to discuss on this rainy, yet sweltering hot Wednesday afternoon

  • My Melissa "Melly T" Tkautz Interview is being conducted on Friday, so I'll hopefully have it up online before the New Year.

  • Kiss The Giss Live in Geelong report coming on Monday (I have yet to develop the photographs from this monumental event).

  • Over the weekend, I saw Emily "Insane Girl" Williams at the Direct Factory Outlets (!!) in Melbourne. Em-Lo was with Mr. Em-Lo (MINUS child, further proving the CFBgoespop girls' theory that the child does not even exist), gawking at some sneakers in the window of a shop.
Then, in an unusually high pitch, Emily began to shout (with all her might) to her main man (who was standing RIGHT next to her) "Oh baby, look, they're the shoes I wore on Idol that time, remember?!!!!"

Bitch PLEASE.

*Special thanks to the CFBGoesPop girls for such brilliant celeb nicknames, including "Insane Girl" and "Melly T", as we have used in this post.

Fields Of Gold

It has finally happened.

We now run our very own mp3 blog.

Click here to visit - would you believe we already have two (2!!) tracks on there for you to grab.

Amazing, isn't it?

What we're doing tomorrow night

"Our" beloved Giss is coming to GEELONG to perform a few hits for a special Karaoke Idol Comp.

We're going to ask her to do "Pon De Replay" & "Take It From Me" on behalf of the
CFBGoesPop girls. We're also going to try our hardest to take as many photos as possible, and we're going to try even harder to smuggle a video camera in. After all that, we're then going to ask her if she's gotten wind of the amazing Kiss The Giss for 2006 campaign.

The festivities begin at 10pm at the Sphinx Gaming Lounge in Geelong, VIC, for anyone who feels like a roadtrip to G-Bang.

Jesus Christ on a motorbike, this is going to be fucking AMAZING.

Making Our Heads Go Pop

You can take a stand against war crimes toward the charts, just as our dear Marie Fredriksson has demonstrated for you all below.

When a disco ball - or anyone for that matter - tells you to "Listen with your heart" with an accompanied backing track of more than 90 beat per minute, you turn around and firmly tell them "No." One of our wise-beyond-his-years viewers, the infamous Woodsman, has also taken a similar stand against D.H.T.'s heinous doof-cover of this classic Roxette song:

"Isn't it bad enough that poor Marie has brain cancer!?!"

Quite.

Sexy is the word...

Do you remember the man to your left?

Yes, that really is Mr. Bad - from E Street, one of the greatest television programs this country has ever produced. A show which created fanfare and made celebrities out of dazzling folk such as Toni Pearen, Bruce Samazan, Simon Baker-Denny, and our favourite dancepop-diva, Melissa Tkautz.

Yesterday, we told you about the brilliance that is the new Melissa Tkautz album, "Lost & Found", which is instores as we speak.

Today, we tell you that in about a weeks time, we will be interviewing Melissa Tkautz.

We're bursting at the ends, honest. This is going to be nothing short of fucking amazing.

(Please do note that there is no real reason for us posting a picture of Mr. Bad, other than to remind you all that this very face was the main subject of all nightmares had in Australia circa the 1990's.)

Let's get on with it, shall we?

The excitement is just too bloody much.

We're just popping out of the office to run down to our local music retailer and purchase a copy of THE NEW
MELISSA TKAUTZ ALBUM. Which, apparently, has been out since last week (why were we not bloody informed?!)

It contains her brilliant cover of Shelia E's "Glamorous Life" (not the demonic Inaya Day version), and her outrageously amazing new single "All I Want Is You" (which has been out since NOVEMBER for god sakes - why aren't ANY OF YOU BUYING IT?!).

Hopefully this album is going to be as brilliant as her first, "Fresh", and hopefully, in about two hours time, you will return to the site and read how this is hands down one of the best albums of the year.

STAY TUNED.

3PM EDIT:
This is easily one of the best albums of the year. Christ, go and buy it immediately please.

Why were we born so beautiful? etc...

Do not panic.

It's meant to be brown and pink, trust us.

Ladies & Gentlemen: Hey presto, here's the new website, in celebration of our 3rd birthday. It's not that bad (ha!) and hopefully you'll all think it's better than the previous design. If you do, feel free to leave comments, post on our forum or email us.

If you don't like it, well, you could probably still do any of the above and we'll pretend to care in our reply.

Happy Birthday to us!! Mega-super-awesome Birthday prize pack being announced soon guys...
Oh and, just so you're all 'aware', early 2006 will see the site renamed to imalwaysright.com.au, but more on that when the "time comes".

x IAR.

Sunday, December 11, 2005
Look at that...

...2 more sleeps till we turn 3, and launch our "new" look.

Friday, December 09, 2005
The Winner Is...

...Luke Pellegrini from Victoria!

Congratulations to Luke, who has won himself a copy of Fresh Volume 8, a double CD containing tracks by Melissa Tkautz, Infernal, Tom Novy etc etc. Luke also told us his favourite non-IAR website was realitytvworld.com.

BUT STOP!

We also had a secret runners up prize!! *GASP*

Scott Williams, who runs one of our favourite websites, Scott, To Be Certain, has scored the mentioned runner up prize. Scott has won himself a copy of D.O.N.S feat. Technotronic's updated version of "Pump Up The Jam" for 2005 on CD single. He told us his favourite non-IAR website was popjustice.com, which, funnily enough, is also ours.

We'd like to thank our good friends at Central Station Records for the prize packs, and also to everyone who entered the competition. Keep an eye out after Christmas for our New Year/Birthday prize pack - it's going to be quite big (but not really!!)!!!!!

Enjoy your weekend, we're going back to watching Veronica Mars episodes.

x IAR.

From another planet

So we admit it. We have been ultra slack and ridiculously stroppy for the past week (Week?! HA!), but in all honesty, the blame can all be forwarded to the one person. Yes, it is all Veronica Mars' fault.

That bitch! etc etc.

We managed to get our hands onto a copy of Season 1 on DVD in its entirety, and let's just say the past few days have involved a lot of American Teen Drama, and not much sleep/work/food/moving from the couch.

Of course, we could have - like normal people - waited each week to watch the show on Channel 10 now that it's airing Monday nights at 7:30, but, you know, we're not a very patient bunch.

So for those of you who ARE a patient bunch, here are some things worth knowing about the greatest show on summer television (without spoiling anything for you)...

  • Lisa Rinna (!!!!!) and Harry Hamlin (!!!!!!!!!) play a husband and wife couple.

  • Teddy Dunn is the most mindblowingly hot guy on the fucking face of the earth.

  • Jason Dohring really isn't too bad either.

  • Mrs. Kane looks *A LOT* like Lilith from Cheers.

  • Mr. Kane looks nothing like Shelley Long from Cheers.

  • Home Improvement's Zachary "Ty" Bryan has lost the "Ty" and put on a bit of weight.

  • Jonathan Taylor Thomas has put on a bit of weight too.

  • They are both still quite easy on the eyes though.

  • Thank heavens etc.

If that's not enough to con you into watching said show every Monday night from 7:30pm on Channel 10, well, we don't know what else to do, except maybe tell you this show is like NANCY DREW on GHB.

AMERICAN & UK VIEWERS: We just COULD NOT believe it when Lill's killer was exposed. Totally floored.

COMING SOON: KISS THE GISS FOR 2006 - A plea to Football Australia from Mother & Son.

='(

The end of the world is nigh.

The sudden (!) and unexpected (!!) passing of one of Australia's most loved heroes (!!!), Kevin "Big Kev" McQuay, has put the IAR offices into a deep, dark and irrational mood of depression and mourning.

Kev was a machine (for our UK viewers, Kev was a bit like Vanessa Feltz - only he sold products on Morning TV and was a bit easier to look at), who's "I'm Excited!!!" catchphrase earned him respect (!), fans (!!) and legendary ambassador status (!!!) amongst the hearts of Midday and Good Morning Australia viewers every Australian.

We bid farewell to a true Aussie Icon.

R.I.P. to a man who's infamous "goo-remover" saved us from many an ugly moment after returning the family car home after a big night out.

We're far from excited.

Lost & Found

Having a stat counter on your website is a necessary tool for most webmasters. These stat counters allow us to view where our visitors are coming from, what they've searched in google/yahoo etc to get to us, and all those other fairly intrusive things.

Over the last 12 months, you lot have looked up some extremely strange things in your preferred web browser, and happened upon our website in the process.

Naturally, we've been keeping a tally of some of the best...

  • rachel stevens slut
  • another fucking love song
  • dougie poynter nude
  • download son of dork for free
  • madonna album leak period
  • nathan phillips gay cum
  • mariah vagina
  • mcfly slash porn
  • jackie o dead
  • rogue traders illegal mp3
  • tom mcfly is kelly osbourne
  • grosse point return to television?
  • oprah porn
  • godskitchen buy drugs for
  • pat benatars teeth
  • download total eclipse video adults only

But, by far, the two best of the year were:

  • Where did Girls Aloud get their dresses from in the Biology video?
and...
  • my girlfriends arsehole

Amazing.

THE EASIEST COMPETITION ON IAR EVER!!

Thanks to our amazing friends down at Central Station records, you could get your slender hands on the disco-tastic compilation put together just in time for Summer, "Fresh Volume 8" - which isn't in stores for another week.

It's a double CD that contains corkers from folk like: Melissa Tkautz, Tom Novy, Basement Jaxx, Infernal, Tina Cousins, Deep Dish, Uniting Nations, Benny Benassi, Faithless, Deepface, Armin Van Buuren plus a truckload more.

And, for a change, this isn't restricted to Australian residents only - anyone from anywhere in the world can enter this competition. AMAZING!!

How do you win? Simply by emailing us at hellothere@inthemix.com.au with your name and the URL of your favourite website (that isn't IAR) by the 8th of December, and we'll draw someone's name out of a hat on Friday, the 9th of December 2005, and announce the winner by Friday evening.

HOW EASY IS THAT?!!
