Back-Door says: "I'm gonna feel So Good"

"Revealing Clothing."

But enough of those Empire Records quotes, it is time to knuckle down and get to business - we are starting to get SERIOUSLY excited about the new Rachel Stevens album "Come & Get It" here at the IAR offices. An album, for those of you playing at home, that shall be released in the UK (sorry Australia) on October 10th.

And if you're one of the folk who've "illegally" "downloaded" "Crazy Boys", then you will understand why we're excited. Snippets of the album have been floating all over the internet for a few weeks now (and no, you can't find these 30 seconds snippets by right-clicking here), and these short clips really are enough to demonstrate that this will be regarded as the 5th greatest album of the year, once, of course, it (2005) is through.

We want to "bum-root" songs like "Crazy Boys", "Funny How" and the criminally awesome "Dumb Dumb". Yes "Dumb Dumb". Crap name, amazing song.

And whilst we're on the subject of anal pleasure, let's not forget about the Fudge-Packing brilliance that is "I Said Never Again (But Here We Are)". The aforementioned songs video clip see's Rachel wearing new gloves (that are, once again, very amazing) - but after viewing the glossies from the ARENA photo shoot (pictured for your spank-bank pleasure), we're wondering if Rachel's arse is more legendary than her gloves? So... is it?

Yes. Yes it is.

In order to imagine just how feverishly impatient I am for this album, imagine Naomi Watts on a couch in the latter half of Mulholland Drive. Yep.

Please explain to me why Rachel is not yet a household name in Australia.

Did you see that article recently about how Ana Matronic of Scissor Sisters offended Rachel by saying she was so boring she'd "rather have dinner with a terrorist"!

Poor Rachel! Is she the new Javine?

It seems the album will be unleashed illegaly fairly soon, with forum sharers tipping it'll be by the end of the weekend. This probably has something to do with Crazy Boys and Nothing Good About This Goodbye already filtering thru the web - in full.

Rachel did indeed hit back at Ana Sister, in an interview with Mr Popjustice in ATTITUDE magazine however. I believe she said something along the lines of telling her to "fuck off" - which made me a very happy panda.

Poor Rachel? It just doesn't have the special ring to it that "Poor Javine" does. ;)

No, you're right. I do think, though, that if Rachel started spelling her name "Raquel" then her fortunes would change.

How do you feel about Rachel's version of NGATG vis-à-vis the original?

To be honest, I can't remember waiting this anxiously for an album. Except maybe the last two Sugababes albums. And the next one. And the last two Natalie albums (first worth the wait, second fucking disappointing).

Where are you based, IAR? (i.e. why the co.uk?)

Raquel... that would fit her to a tee wouldn't it? Unlike Tiffany Wood's "lucky" name change to Tiffani... disaster.

Rachel's (scrap, Raquel's) NGATG is not *bad*, but its not *great* either. I must admit I am warming to it after each listen but it's got nothing on the amazing alexis version. bit frightened that its tipped to be the next single though. clearly the next single should either be "Dumb Dumb" or 'Crazy Boys'.

The co.uk came about as the .com and .net's were already registered at the time. =( I'm based in Geelong, just outside of Melbourne.

Yes, and what's with them scrapping Crazy Boyz in favour of ISNA(BHWA) in the first place?

There seems to be an absolute dearth of qualified people with fingers on the pulse (or a pulse at all) capable of identifying the right singles at the right time.

e.g. "Because of You" is so clearly NOT the right choice for Kelly's fourth single. Are you with me? Why not "Addicted", or "Gone" etc.

Does Rachel sample The 411 in "Dumb Dumb"? (Can you just IMAGINE that for a second.)

I haven't heard 'Dumb Dumb' in full yet, but i would love it if she did sample 411 in it - my lord i'm sweating at the thought.

MY GOSH agree on the kelly clarkson debacle... i even wrote something about it on this here website - the links in the main menu thru archives somewhere, i was crushed that "Gone" was not the next single.

Clearly Scott, clearly we should be working for these people.

Sadly, your archives don't appear to be working, IAR!

Separately, do you know of Patrick Wolf?

    ABSOLUTELY (x 100).

Patrick Wolf has bulleted to the Top of my 2005 chart with his single entitled "The Libertine", off his album "The Wind in the Wires". Readily available to buy or download.

The delightful Fop at filmica.blogspot.com put me on to young Mr Wolf.

Listen and just try not to love it. JUST TRY. It samples horses galloping! I mean, do you need any further encouragement.

Is it not quite worthily the best song of the year? How brilliant when the percussion zooms in atop the fading strings! And the horses' hooves! HOOVES! "The motorway won't take a horse." Indeed!
